Practising swimming strokes makes perfect! It’s been about a couple of months since we last updated about O and A, and they have made much progress! The girls had their swimming lesson on a weekday during the September school holidays, and they are becoming more competent. Both girls are growing in water confidence, and they enjoy practising their strokes. They have learnt the freestyle and breast strokes, and are working to perfect their arm movements. During swimming lessons, Teacher Yong uses a variety of tools to engage and enable the children to learn swimming effectively. The girls used the dumbbells […]

Swimming lessons are a wonderful way to enjoy water safely! MoovSwim had a great children swimming lesson with twins J and L, as well as our new addition LA a few Sundays ago! Our last update on the twins at Haig was some time ago, and since then, much progress has been observed! The children did a few warm up exercises practising their paddling and kicking, with and without the aid of noodles. Teacher Yong went on to correct their freestyle strokes, giving personalized attention and time to each child. The children practised their strokes with the help of the dumbbells, […]

Swimming is fun when you learn together with friends! A few months have passed since our last update on our friends M, E and L. The children have been honing their swimming stroke execution, and they are getting more confident and competent. The children swim together in circuits, as well as have one on one sessions with Teacher Yong who would correct their strokes. Both M and L have been progressing well with their freestyle and breaststroke, and they are now able to swim independently without any aid! Now, the children need more practice swimming longer distances to improve on their stamina […]

Swimming lessons are fun for babies and toddlers! Thursday mornings are perfect for our little swimmer Baby D to have his swimming lessons! At 16 months, Baby D is able to attend swimming lessons on his own with mummy watching by the side! He enjoys Teacher Yong’s company, and is always laughing and smiling away. Teacher Yong guides Baby D in his kicking through fun activities and songs. Baby D enjoys kicking towards the colourful balls, and collects them into the noodle. Teacher Yong holds him to feel the motion of swishing and the flow of water. This is to […]

Swimming lessons are a fun way to learn water safety! On Sunday afternoon, we had a class with friends K and E! They just started swimming lessons with MoovSwim for a month, and they have learnt to be much more comfortable in water than before! The two friends did not have any formal lessons before this, and placing their faces in the water was difficult for them at first. After a month, they were able to comfortably immerse their faces in the water and kick with confidence! With much patience and encouragement, the children are becoming more confident. They are […]

Swimming is great with customised attention by coach! MoovSwim had a great children swimming lesson on Sunday with J, JQ, S and M! The children have been learning for some time, and from the last time we have written about them, they are slowly gaining confidence in the water! The children have varying swimming abilities, and thus Coach takes time to provide customised attention to each of them. For the same activity, Coach provides differentiated instruction where he caters to the child’s ability and learning needs. This is so that all the children are involved and participating, and yet they are not left […]

Post's featued image.

It’s time for the weekly swimming lesson, and “Joe” is playing up again. You have tried to prep him before the lesson, and he has agreed to listen and cooperate, but somehow when the time comes, he is resisting to pay attention again. He is bobbing underwater, splashing around, and playing with pool toys while the teacher is talking. On occasion, he may be seen distracting other kids. A few thoughts may probably enter your mind: I’m not bringing him to lessons anymore The teacher thinks I have no control The other parents are getting annoyed that my child is […]

Swimming is fun for the little ones! MoovSwim had a toddler swimming lesson with our 2015 girls, V, A and I, and it was another splashing good time for parents and tods! The girls enjoyed having fun in the water, and they are getting more comfortable in kicking in the water. The fun activities encourage the tods to move about in the water by kicking, and enjoy the swishing motion of swimming. Pouring water over their faces not only encourages our tods to be comfortable with eventual submersion! This activity also encourages toddlers to learn voluntary breath control, which is […]

Sunday mornings are best for swimming lessons! On Sunday morning, good friends Z and D had their children swimming lesson with MoovSwim! They were raring to go and eager to go for their lesson early in the morning. The sun was out and it was perfect for a swim outdoors. Since our last update on the boys back in end April, Z and D have been making progress. They are very comfortable with submersion and are working hard on their paddling and kicking. Their rocket-pizza strokes are getting better, and the boys are making progress with better kicking as well. […]

Swimming gets better with more practice! On Friday afternoon, MoovSwim conducted a children swimming lesson with V and D! The children have progressed quite a bit in the past four months, and it is wonderful to watch how they have grown! Both V and D have grown in water confidence, and D is getting more comfortable in the water. They have been learning both freestyle and breaststroke, coordinating their arms and legs at the same time. V takes pride into improving on her strokes, aiming to perfect her skills during lesson time. She is full of enthusiasm and is eager […]
