Swimming is fun for the little ones! MoovSwim had a toddler swimming lesson with our 2015 girls, V, A and I, and it was another splashing good time for parents and tods! The girls enjoyed having fun in the water, and they are getting more comfortable in kicking in the water. The fun activities encourage the tods to move about in the water by kicking, and enjoy the swishing motion of swimming. Pouring water over their faces not only encourages our tods to be comfortable with eventual submersion! This activity also encourages toddlers to learn voluntary breath control, which is […]

Swimming is a great time for daddy and child bonding! MoovSwim conducted a toddler swimming lesson for little G and M last Saturday afternoon! The toddlers first began with an all-time favourite song “Wheels on the Bus” to warm up. Daddies and tods sang along to the song, and had a lot of fun splashing around and playing with the water together! Next, the toddlers practised their kicking by chasing after lots of colourful balls! This never fails to bring a smile to their faces, and it was a joy watching their faces light up at the sight of the […]

Very often, we read news about heroic acts of adults and animals saving children from drowning. Today, we share about an amazing heroic act, where a five year old girl from Texas, USA rescued her mother from drowning in their family swimming pool. The entire heroic incident was captured on the family’s surveillance camera. Watch the video below! Tracy Anderwald and her five year old daughter Allison were just enjoying their favourite activity of swimming to celebrate the end of spring break. Then, something went wrong. Tracy had suffered from a seizure and blacked out, sinking four feet to the […]

In a recent local article, it was noted that more Singaporean parents are enrolling their babies in classes such as swimming lessons to develop their babies’ physical and social skills. Parents aim to bond with their children and provide an extra edge in their children’s development through these activities. Dr Yang Chien-Hui, a senior lecturer at UniSIM specialising in early childhood education, said children learn best through play. This includes embarking on fun and enriching programmes such as music appreciation, gym classes and swimming lessons. Dr Yang mentioned that anything in the real world and three dimensional is natural for […]

Swimming is an excellent way to start a wonderful Saturday! On Saturday morning, MoovSwim had a swimming lesson with S and C, and the children had a lot of fun splashing around and being in the water! Both S and C just begin their swimming lessons together. S is more comfortable in the water and thus attends the lesson on her own, while C’s daddy accompanies C in building his water confidence together. The main objectives of the lesson were to inculcate water safety and build water confidence. Learning to enter and exit the water in a safe manner is […]

Swimming is a great start for Sunday mornings! MoovSwim had a children swimming lesson with buddies Z and D on Sunday morning! The boys started their Sunday bright and early with a morning dip, and they look forward to their lesson every Sunday. They have been with MoovSwim for a month, and they have been progressing very well. The boys have been learning to enter and exit the mat and pool safely, as well as practising their kicks. They are currently learning to paddle, and will need more time to build up their core muscles before they can paddle independently. […]

Swimming is fun with daddy, mummy and toys! On Friday afternoon, MoovSwim had a toddler swimming lesson with Baby V! Baby V has been with MoovSwim since she was 6 months old, and she has grown so well and progressed so much! The moment she saw the toys, she was immediately drawn to them and couldn’t wait to get into the water. Baby V enjoys her swimming lessons and being in the water. She is confident in entering and exiting the water via the mat. She loves kicking and is able to do so without prompting. This shows that she […]

Swimming with mummy is a great way to enjoy a hot day! On Tuesday afternoon, MoovSwim had a private swimming lesson with J and her mummy! Since the last we wrote about our lesson with little J, she has made good progress! Now, she is able to lean forward to reach out for mummy’s shoulders while entering the water. This is an important water safety skill, as it can be dangerous for young children to slide off the pool edge with their bottoms. Learning to lean forward and head into the pool is also a prelude to diving into the […]

Swimming is fun with toys and songs! Last Saturday afternoon, little G and N attended a toddler swimming lesson with MoovSwim! We began the lesson with some singing and water familiarisation activities, and the girls had fun kicking away under the “bridge”! Both G and N are comfortable with water, and they are now proceeding to learn and practise safe water entry and exit. This is an important skill to learn, and this is fundamental to learning how to swim. During lesson time, we engage our toddlers with lots of toys and songs to encourage them to enjoy being in the water […]
