Swimming starts as early as 6 months!

Sunday afternoons are a good time to have a dip in the water! We had our baby swimming lesson with K and L, and the babies had lots of fun splashing around.

For each baby swim class, activities are planned on three main focal points –  learning safe water entry and exit, having water familiarisation and building water confidence. Coach Yong incorporates songs alongside with certain motions so that the babies would associate the songs with each movement. Each skill is then practised over a few times throughout the lesson. Repetition of skills builds the muscle memory in babies, and this also ensures that structured routines are followed in each lesson. Children, especially babies, thrive on and work well with routines.

The babies had a lot of fun bonding with their parents, and Coach Yong takes the time to educate parents on how to handle their children safely in the water. Consistency in attending swimming lessons is key to ensuring that your child picks up the necessary water safety skills!
