It is fun to learn swimming with your sister!
MoovSwim had a children swimming lesson on Saturday afternoon with sisters N and YH at Haig162. It’s been a while since we last updated about the sisters, and they have been improving slowly but surely over the past couple of months!
The sisters have been learning basic strokes with the use of noodles and kickboards, and they are growing in confidence to do the strokes independently without any teaching aid. They have been working on their paddling, as well as practising their flutter kicks.
The sisters have moved on to swimming in the deep end of the pool. Initially, it was very daunting for the girls who were very used to having floats with them at the deep end. They were not comfortable with the notion of depth and were apprehensive. However after some guidance and encouragement, the sisters were able to perform torpedoes on their own without any noodle! This is a remarkable feat for N who is especially fearful of water, as it was her first time overcoming her fear of depth. Great effort, girls!
It takes time and patience for children who have phobia of swimming and deep waters to overcome the psychological barriers, but slowly and surely, things will improve in time to come.
