Swimming is a wonderful post-nap activity!
On Tuesday afternoon, MoovSwim conducted a children swimming lesson for KZ and M! The children are currently learning doggy paddles and floating, which are essential water safety skills. Being aware of the aquatic environment and knowing how to be safe are important aspects to enjoying swimming. Children need to learn to be conscious about the approach of safe entry and exit of water.
KZ and M are both becoming more confident in water, and the two of them learn from and motivate each other. Since the last we wrote about them, they have improved quite a fair bit in terms of strokes. With consistent practice they will get better in time to come!
Keeping their heads above water while doing the doggy paddle requires quite a bit of effort and neck strength, and children who are used to submersion may find this a little awkward initially. However, this is actually an important follow up to acquiring proper breath control technique for breast stroke. Thus given time and practice, the children will be able to do this comfortably.
